It’s All About the Kids

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Dunny and I headed down to the Home Depot Center earlier this week to catch up with some friends and check out the U-18 National Team and possibly some future US soccer stars. The U-18’s were playing the Chivas reserves and between the college coaches, scouts and agents hanging around, there was a lot of interest in these young players. It really is amazing to see how far the sport has come in recent years, and this was a further reminder that the sport is well on its way. From the talent on the field to the interest that was shown to these young players, soccer in America is definitely changing and evolving all the time.

Seeing the youth national team playing brought back some memories for Dunny and I. In fact, Mooch Myernick was the first person to see Dunny and give him a look at the youth national team level. Here’s to you Mooch.

Wayne Rooney – 2010 PFA Player Of The Year Compilation

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Wayne Rooney has been named the PFA Player of the Year. It’s hard to argue with the season that he has had, and how important he has been to Manchester United. He has certainly filled the gap that was left when Cristiano Ronaldo left for Real Madrid. Congrats on the award and on an amazing season.

Pele, Maradona and Zidane for Louis Vuitton

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Yesterday we showed you a preview from an upcoming Louis Vuitton ad campaign that features Pele, Maradona and Zidane. Now here’s a short teaser showing Zidane and Pele challenging one another in foosball. Pretty rad concept as far as I’m concerned.

What is even more interesting for me is that this ad campaign, featuring our game’s most iconic players is released at just about the same time as we are dropping our own foosball inspired product. I would really like to make the claim with this that great minds do think alike!

Keep an eye out for this Bumpy Pitch foosball release very, very soon!

Lyon v Bayern Munich Highlights – Champions League Semi-Finals

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Bayern Munich returns t0 the Champions League finals as Olic hits a hat trick away at Lyon. Bayern look very capable and should certainly make things difficult for Inter or Barca. On a side note, I would like to say a personal congratulations to Mark van Bommel on making it to the Champions League final. I was at the same Dutch club as him many years ago, and it’s awesome to see what an amazing career he has had and to now have the chance to play in the Champions League finals.

On The Move

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Been a busy week around here. We have a lot of projects that we are either currently finishing up, in the middle of or are in the early stages of planning and execution. The week has seen us in Palm Springs to get a few hours of sun, deep in South LA for production meetings, downtown to explore some new projects and back to the bat cave to make sure everything is getting executed. Here’s just a small snapshot from the week, bundled up and put in photo form. Keep a very close eye out next week as we have some brand new releases headed your way shortly…
