The Manchester City away jersey 2017-18 edition has been unveiled by Nike as the club is in Los Angeles on their pre-season tour. The head to toe maroon kit has some history with the club - notably, the 1956 FA Cup Final winning team wore a dark maroon jersey with white pinstripes, and the 1967-68 League title-winning side’s kit incorporated maroon detailing.
Tying into the club’s iconic home colors, the 2017-18 away shirt and socks include a trim in Manchester City’s signature blue.
The new away kit's look is duly matched by Nike innovation. Designed for and tested by the world’s leading footballers, AeroSwift kits have engineered knit zones on the shirt that create a subtle geometric pattern and enhance fit for the athlete in motion. The sides of the kit feature a black stripe with blue underlay that runs the length of the shirt and blue shorts. The stripes maximize ventilation by expanding when the player is in motion. Finally, the City blue-trimmed socks incorporate NikeGrip technology for the ultimate foot-to-boot connection.
