NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas Originals Gazelle

In my opinion, the adidas Gazelle is the best soccer inspired sneaker of all time. It's alleged that the early version of the Gazelle first popped up around 1966. The Gazelle has it's roots in sport but at it's soul is a shoe that has helped to define certain cultures and lifestyles.

I got my first pair of Gazelles in high school and they were definitely a go to for me. I would wear them to school as often as I would wear them for pickup soccer in the streets. At my high school, Gazelles were primarily worn by soccer kids like myself. But the style and vast amount of colors that adidas had on offer made them as stylish as they were sporty.

They will forever be the perfect combination of soccer and style with some musical influence thrown in - and that in some ways sums up my own aesthetic and passions.

adidas is getting set to release a pack of sneakers with with Japanese brand NEIGHBORHOOD, and one of the pairs on offer is an all black Gazelle with hints of white when it comes to the branding. The upper is a knit mesh while the stripes appear to be a suede leather.

These will be available February 24th and would be a great addition to the collection of any Gazelle aficionado.
